Head in the Clouds——

Head in the Clouds——

** not know what is going on(不知道發生了甚麼)// unaware of one's present situation(不知道自己的現狀)// thinking in illogical or delusional manner(不合邏輯或以妄想的方式來思考)

~~ absentminded // daydreaming // distracted // inattentive // pipe dreaming // scatterbrained!!

The hyperbolic idiom started as "head in the air," but that apparently was not enough to express what it wanted to mean, so in mid-1600s, the ‘head’ had to be hyperbolically extended to the clouds, which were considered out of the reach to humans. It was only in relatively recent times that a vague, dreamy person was said to have his or her head in the clouds.

>> If you think that you will not be infected by COVID-19 after being vaccinated, you are head in the clouds, but it is a fact that if you are vaccinated, the risk of severe illness and death will generally be greatly reduced!

>> The taxi meter showed 30 dollars and I paid 40 dollars, but the taxi driver gave me 70 dollars as change. He must be head in the clouds.
